SVL League Policies
1. Game Cancellations & Forfeits League Cancellation (Facility or Weather) If a game is cancelled due to facility issues (such as school rental cancellations) or weather:
• The league will attempt to reschedule the game.
• If the game cannot be rescheduled, a $60 refund per team will be issued.
Opponent Forfeit If a game is cancelled due to the opposing team forfeiting:
• The game will not be rescheduled.
• No refund will be issued.
• The gym space will remain available for volleyball use during your scheduled time.
• The team present will receive the $25 forfeit fee from the opposing team once it has been received by the league.
Regular Season Forfeit Fee If a team forfeits a game during the regular season:
• A $25 league fee will be applied.
• The team must clear the fee before playoffs.
• Teams with outstanding fees will not be scheduled for playoffs until the balance is paid.
Playoff Forfeit Fee Teams are expected to make every reasonable effort to field a team for all playoff games, including consolation matches. If a forfeit is unavoidable:
• Teams must provide as much notice as possible.
• Teams that give less than 2 hours notice before game time will receive a $25 fine. ⸻
2. Championship Awards Each championship team (per tier) will receive:
• 7 Championship T-Shirts
• 7 Championship Medals If additional sets are required:
• $25 per additional set (1 shirt + 1 medal)
3. Sportsmanship & Conduct The league is intended to be fun, recreational, and respectful for all players.
• Abusive language, aggressive behavior, or harassment toward players, referees, or staff will not be tolerated.
• The league reserves the right to remove players or teams from the league for misconduct.
• No refunds will be issued for teams removed due to conduct violations.
- Refund Policy Team Registration Refund A full refund will be provided if the team withdraws at least 2 weeks prior to the league start date. If the withdrawal occurs within the 2-week timeframe, a refund will only be provided if another team is able to fill the spot.
Single Registration Refund Due to the dynamic nature of forming individual (singles) teams, no refunds will be issued once registration fees have been paid.
Tournament Registration Refund A full refund will be provided if the team withdraws at least 2 weeks prior to the tournament start date. If the withdrawal occurs within the 2-week timeframe, a refund will only be provided if another team is able to fill the spot.
5. League Authority The league reserves the right to:
• Make schedule adjustments if necessary
• Interpret and enforce all league policies
• Resolve disputes that may arise during the season All decisions made by league staff are final.
- Personal Property Policy
Participants are responsible for the care and security of their personal belongings at all times while attending league activities. This includes, but is not limited to, clothing, footwear, bags, valuables, and volleyball equipment.
The league does not accept any responsibility or liability for personal items or volleyballs that are lost, stolen, damaged, or left behind in the gym or surrounding facilities. All items brought to the venue are at the owner’s risk.
Participants are encouraged to clearly label their belongings and ensure they collect all items before leaving the premises. Any items left behind may be placed in a designated lost and found area, if available, but the league does not guarantee the recovery of such items.
